July 2, 1921 - February 3, 2021

Dorothy Opal Casebeer, 99, of McPherson, KS, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at Pleasant View Home, Inman. She was a homemaker.

Dorothy was born on July 2, 1921, in Meno, OK, the daughter of Bernard and HeLena (Ratzlaff) Becker. On February 26, 1944, Dorothy was united in marriage to Charles Henry Casebeer in McPherson, KS. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2014.

She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church where she had been a Sunday school teacher. She was also the co-founder of the first Al-Anon Chapter in McPherson.

Survivors include: four children, Pat Anderson (Ron) of McPherson, KS, Gary Casebeer of McPherson, KS, Mark Casebeer (Patty) of Lindsborg, KS, and Dennis Casebeer (Jolene) of Galva, KS; 13 grandchildren, Terry Kanitz of McPherson, KS, Rick Anderson (Alice) of Lawrence, KS, Kim Schafer (Tim) of McPherson, KS, David Casebeer (Andrea) of McPherson, KS, Tracy Casebeer (Melanie) of McPherson, KS, Kristina Goatley of Denver, CO, Troy Casebeer (Lindsey Kelley) of Junction City, KS, Andrew Palmer of Kansas City, KS, Eric Hebert (Krista) of Lindsborg, KS, Bobbi Ireton (Matt) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Jennifer Mizell of Canton, KS, Julie Fiedler (Shane) of Canton, KS, and Jesse Casebeer of Galva, KS; 27 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and eight siblings.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, February 8, 2021, at Stockham Family Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, February 9, at the First Baptist Church with Pastor John Pattison officiating. A link to view the livestream of the service will be posted on the funeral home's website closer to service time. Burial will follow the service at McPherson Cemetery.
