Obituary for Sharil J. (Heina) Havel | Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home

November 28, 1940 ~ May 11, 2022 (age 81)

 Sharil J. Heina-Havel, the daughter of Harold Max Asch and Mildred (Randall) Asch, was born November 28, 1940 in Haddam, Kansas and passed away at her home in rural Cuba, Kansas on May 11, 2022 at the age of 81 years, 5 months, and 13 days.

Sharil grew up in Haddam, Kansas graduating from Haddam High School in 1959.   

On July 1, 1962, she was united in marriage to Charles Edward Heina and to this union was born, Danny Lee and Terry Lynn. They made their home in rural Republic County moving later to rural Cuba, Kansas in 1969 where Sharil  lived for 50 plus years.

Sharil began work at the IGA and Paul’s Market in Belleville. She also was a homemaker and assisted on the family farm. She later was a checker at Foodmart in Belleville for over 30 years until her retirement.   

On January 6, 1989, she was united in marriage to Earl E. “Gene” Havel.  He preceded her in death on January 6, 2016.

Sharil was a member of the bridge club in Cuba/ Agenda for many years and played bingo. She enjoyed fishing, attending auctions, jewelry making, and artwork painting. She loved animals and especially her dog and companion, Missy.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Mildred Asch, and husbands Charles Edward Heina and Earl E. “Gene” Havel.

Sharil is survived by two sons, Dan (Stephanie) Heina of Lincoln, Kansas and Terry (Rolinda) Heina, of Abilene, KS;  her very special granddaughter, Tasha (Cory) Carter of Clearwater, KS; grandchildren Sabrina Kline, Hunter Kline, Sidney Hendrikson, and Brandon (Rachael) Pigorsch;  great-grandchildren Tucker, Payton, Ryley, Jacey, Clayton, Laramie, Lane, Levi, Brogan, Bryant, Brynna; brother Kenneth Asch of Belleville, KS;  nephews  Andy Asch, Brad Asch, Brendon Asch, and Nathan Asch; other relatives, and friends.  

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 16, 2022 at the Cuba Presbyterian Church, Cuba, KS with Pastor Phil Goomb officiating. 

Interment will be at the Tabor Cemetery, rural Munden, Kansas.

The family will greet friends from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at the Bachelor-Surber Funeral Home, Belleville, KS.

Memorials are suggested to the Cuba Booster Club or the Cuba Presbyterian Church.
