The 41st annual Festival Jam kicked off the 50th annual Smoky Hill River Festival, and it did not disappoint.
Attendees shared their thoughts about the Jam and their favorite aspect of the Festival.
The Community Tangle has also started before its completion on Sunday.
This neat experience invites participants to co-create a communal structure using natural materials and hands-on collaboration.
Construction materials will include branches, vines, twine, grass, cattails, and other natural materials, with the materials themselves used to bind and secure the forms!!
With the catastrophic storms that occurred on Monday, community members, local companies and volunteers worked tirelessly to clean up Oakdale Park.
Salina Arts and Humanities Executive Director, Brad Anderson shared with us how the 41st Festival Jam and 50th annual Smoky Hill River Festival got prepared and ready to go.
Festival Hours:
· Friday & Saturday, June 12-13: 10 am - 10 pm
· Sunday, June 14: 10 am - 4 pm
Parking is free and available in the lots adjacent to the Tony’s Pizza Events Center and in the general vicinity of the Festival or on public streets where permissible. No unauthorized vehicles, skateboards, or bikes are allowed in Oakdale Park.
Limited accessible parking is available for those with placards in the lot directly north of the 4th Street Bridge (the former Salina Journal parking lot, along the river) and in the Tony’s Pizza Event Center Parking lot.
Admission at the gate:
- $20 4-day wristband – entrance allowed for the entire weekend (Thursday – Sunday).
- $10 daily wristband – entrance allowed on the day of purchase only. Children 11 and under get in FREE
