Two small earthquakes struck southern Saline County Thursday.

The first, a 2.0 magnitude quake, struck at 4:53 p.m. Thursday southwest of Gypsum, according to the Kansas Geological Survey. It was centered northwest of the S. Niles Road-E. Lapsley Road intersection.

The second, a 2.8 magnitude quake, struck northwest of the first at 10:09 p.m. Thursday. It was centered just east of S. Woodward Road between E. Hedberg Road and E. Assaria Road.
