Glenna Louise Heald, 84, formerly of Concordia, Kansas, died at her home in Manhattan, Kansas.

Glenna was born near Haddam, Kansas on September 2, 1941, to Verlin Ryser and Agnes Cibolski Ryser. She was one of ten children. Glenna graduated from Concordia High School with the Class of 1959. Two years later, she married Larry L. Heald.

She married Larry L. Heald at the Baptist Church in Concordia on August 6, 1961.  There were four children from this union.

As a young adult, Glenna was a surgical nurse at the St. Joseph Hospital in Concordia. Later, she worked in the banking industry with Fidelity State Bank and UMB Bank in Concordia. Glenna retired in 2005 after 31 years of service.

Four children were born to Glenna and Larry; Brad (Gina) Heald, Marc Heald, Trisha (Paul) Schliffke and Tracy (Annette) Heald, All survive.  Surviving siblings are Margaret Gile, Lesley Ann (Jim) Lewis, Jan Stiner, Pam Kelly, Dan (Marsha) Ryser, Dick (Beth) Ryser, Annette (Mike) Gallagher.

Glenna always took pride in her home, including her lawn and garden. She enjoyed hosting family for Holidays. She was a lifelong resident of Concordia, moving to Manhattan in 2022 only after Larry’s death in 2021.

Additionally, she is survived by grandchildren, Nathan (Kerly) Heald, Hannah (William) Quintana, Taylor (Gracie) Heald, Connor Heald, Zach Heald, Jenna Heald, Mia Heald, Hollie Schliffke, Christina Webster, Jonathan (Kasey) Schliffke, Great grandchildren, Liam Quintana, and Daphne Heald.

In addition to her parents, Glenna was preceded in death by her husband Larry, and by siblings Gary Ryser and Mary Dean Nelson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 1-8 pm at Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, with the family receiving friends from 5-7 pm.

Celebration of Life Service will be held, Friday, 10:30 a.m., September 26, 2025, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, Concordia, Kansas with Pastor Dwight Whitead officiating.  Burial will follow in the Miltonvale City Cemetery, Miltonvale, Kansas.
