Darlene Loretta Eib, 85, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, October 7, 2021. She was born October 3, 1936, to David and Lenora (Ray) Shea at the family home in Miltonvale, KS. 

After graduating from Miltonvale High School in 1954 and receiving a music scholarship, she attended Miltonvale Wesleyan College.  

She married Ned E. Eib in 1959.  The couple settled and began their lives together in Clay Center, KS, moving to Manhattan, KS in 1961, Washington, KS in 1967, and ultimately California in 1968. 

Blessed with daughters Kimberly Anne and Kay Christine, the family enjoyed many wonderful and happy years at their home in Fresno, California.  Darlene, the consummate hostess, enjoyed music, travel, photography, and entertaining family and friends.

She worked for Southwestern Bell company for 15 years, and later worked alongside her husband in their Fresno, California veterinary practice.  She was active in many women’s groups including serving two terms as president for Central California Veterinary Medical Auxiliary, treasurer for Thoughtless 13 Women in Investing, alumni of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and member of Ladies Welcome Wagon.

Darlene left an impression and touched many lives.  Her fun-loving personality, cheerful disposition and kindness will remain with each of us, fortunate to have been warmed by her friendship and love.  Her joy for life, was second only to her love, devotion and faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. 

When you saw, Darlene, you saw love. 

Darlene was preceded in passing by her parents, two infant siblings, brothers John (Jack) Shea, Delbert (Dean) Shea and Jimmy (Jim) Shea, and brother-in-law Harold Elsasser.

She leaves behind husband Ned, daughter Kimberly Eib of Fresno, California, daughter Kay Eib Patrick of Carlsbad, California, sisters, Laura Wendlandt of Manhattan KS, Mary Lou Breen and her husband Larry Breen of Kingwood, TX, sister-in-law Nola Elsasser of Clyde, KS, along with many loving nieces and nephews. 

Funeral Service: Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Neill-Schwensen-Rook Funeral Home, Clay Center KS

Memorials:  In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to organization of donor’s choice.
