A local man was killed late Saturday in a single-vehicle wreck east of Salina.

Chris Engle, 51, of Salina, was westbound on E. Magnolia Road in a 2000 Ford F150 when the pickup went off the south side of the roadway, Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said this morning. 

The pickup went through two fences before launching over the roadway, striking a culvert on the north side. The wreck occurred at approximately 11:05 p.m. Saturday three-fourths of a mile west of the intersection with S. Cunningham Road.

Engle was pronounced dead at the scene, Soldan said. He had been properly restrained and there were no signs of impairment, Soldan added.

The pickup, owned by BlueLine Remodeling and Contracting, sustained substantial damage and was towed from the scene. Engle was an employee of BlueLine, Soldan said.
