KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Football League announced the schedule for the 2026 season on Thursday. The Chiefs are currently slated to play six primetime contests, with GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium hosting three. The club will be featured in at least 10 national games and will play on the road Weeks 12-13 on back-to-back Thursday nights. This year’s regular season schedule features nine games vs. opponents that made the playoffs in 2025. The combined 2025 record of Kansas City’s 2026 home and away opponents is 155-134-0 (.536), giving the team the fifth highest opponent strength of schedule percentage (.536).
The Chiefs will kick off the 2026 season on ESPN/ABC’s Monday Night Football with an AFC West matchup against the Denver Broncos at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Monday, Sept. 14. The last time the club played on a Monday in Week 1 was on Sept. 13, 2010, when the Chiefs defeated the San Diego Chargers. In Week 2, the Chiefs will host the Indianapolis Colts on NBC’s Sunday Night Football, marking back-to-back primetime contests for the club to open the season.
The team then hits the road in Weeks 3-4, facing the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 27 before taking on the Raiders in Las Vegas on Oct. 4. The Chiefs will enjoy their Bye Week during Week 5 before returning to action to host an AFC West matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 18. In Week 7, the club will play its third primetime game and the second on NBC’s Sunday Night Football in Seattle on Oct. 25 against the reigning Super Bowl Champions to close out October. In Week 8, the Chiefs will face the Broncos for a second matchup, this time in Denver.
Kansas City returns to the primetime spotlight on Dec. 21, this time hosting the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. The team then faces off against the San Francisco 49ers on Dec. 27 at home before closing out the season with two AFC West opponents. The Chiefs will play the Chargers in Los Angeles, before closing out the season at home against the Las Vegas Raiders. The dates and times for the Week 17 and 18 matchups are yet to be determined.
