Governor Kelly directs flags flown half-staff in honor of fallen officer

Governor Kelly announced on Tuesday for flags to be flown at half-staff on all state buildings, grounds and facilities all day for Saturday, July 5th in honor of Phillips County Deputy Brandon Gaede. 

Deputy Gaede was killed in the line of duty on Friday, June 27th.

“I am directing flags statewide be flown at half-staff to honor Phillips County Deputy Brandon Gaede, whose life was taken too soon while protecting his community,” Governor Kelly said. “Each day, our law enforcement officers brave profound risks in service of their fellow Kansans. I extend my deepest condolences to Deputy Gaede’s loved ones and community as they grieve this unimaginable loss.”

Deputy Gaede will be honored during services held on July 5th.
