Grants and the 2022 budget are among the items on the Saline County Commission agenda for Tuesday.

Salina County has provided the following information concerning viewing the meeting remotely.
The City of Salina has terminated the agreement with Salina Media Connection to broadcast local programs on Cox Cable. Saline County will work cooperatively with others to restore meeting broadcasts. In the interim, county meetings can be viewed via Zoom or YouTube.

The meeting
The regular weekly meeting is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 W. Ash Street. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.
Commissioners are being asked to allow the Department of Senior Services to accept a $10,000 grant from the Earl Bane Foundation to be used for a new Meals On Wheels drive through, outbuilding repair, tuckpointing the second and third floors of the building, and replacement of all windows, according to information from the commission meeting packet.
Additionally, commissioners are being asked to approve a $4,774 Volunteer Assistance Grant through the Kansas Forest Service for Rural Fire District No. 5 to purchase wildland fire gear.
Commissioners also are being asked by county to provide direction on the budget they would like to see for 2022. Once that is determined, staff will return within two weeks with a revised budget.
Other items on the county agenda for Tuesday include the following.

●Consider a Radio System Permit Agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation for city-county radio equipment to be installed at a KDOT-owned tower site at the Kansas Highway Patrol Training Center - Hannah Stambaugh, deputy county administrator
●Consider establishing Task Order No. 1 with Disaster Recovery Consultant - County Administrator Phillip Smith-Hanes
●Hear a Road and Bridge Department update - Darren Fishel, administrator
