FRISCO, Texas — The Wichita Wind Surge (24-25) won their fourth consecutive game with a 4-1 victory over the Frisco RoughRiders (24-25) in game four of a six-game series Friday night at Riders Field, powered by five scoreless innings from Ty Langenberg and a go-ahead grand slam from Andrew Cossetti in the eighth.

Cossetti paced the offense, providing the dramatic swing that gave the Surge a 4-0 lead in the eighth. The grand slam was his 17th home run of the season and gave him his 10th multi-RBI performance of the campaign. Jake Rucker reached base twice to extend his on-base streak to 21 games, while Brandon Winokur extended his on-base streak to 18 games.

On the mound, Langenberg was outstanding, tossing five scoreless innings while allowing just one hit and striking out five. Paulshawn Pasqualotto was also strong in relief, striking out three over two scoreless innings for his 10th scoreless appearance of the season. Spencer Bengard and Kyle Bischoff combined to record the final six outs and secure Wichita's fourth consecutive win.

THE RUNDOWN

Langenberg got the start on the hill for the Wind Surge. The former Iowa Hawkeye made quick work of the top of the Frisco order, facing the minimum in a scoreless first inning.

The Surge threatened in the top of the second, getting a runner 90 feet from home plate twice but ultimately could not scratch across a run thanks to strong infield defense from the RoughRiders.

Langenberg continued to deal through five, allowing just one hit and striking out five to keep the RoughRiders off the scoreboard in a dominant start.

Pasqualotto entered in the sixth and continued Wichita's strong pitching performance, tossing two scoreless innings and striking out three to keep the game tied at 0-0.

Wichita finally broke through in the top of the eighth, loading the bases on three consecutive walks before Cossetti smashed a grand slam, his 17th home run of the season, to give the Wind Surge a 4-0 lead.

The RoughRiders pulled a run back in the bottom of the ninth, but Bischoff recorded the final three outs to secure Wichita's 4-1 victory.
