Shoulder resurfacing on I-70 begins Monday in Saline County

Posted Apr 14, 2021 1:35 PM

Beginning Monday, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) will begin a HMA overlay with a chip seal on the shoulders of Interstate 70 (I-70).

Work on eastbound and westbound I-70 will begin at the Saline/Lincoln county line and continue east about eight miles.

Traffic will be reduced to one 16-foot lane at a reduced speed through the work zone. Drivers should expect minimal delays, not exceeding five minutes.

APAC-Kansas Inc. Shears Division, of Hutchinson is the prime contractor and has scheduled this $2.5 million project to be completed in early June, weather permitting.

KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone.  To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
