A Salina man with previous trespassing charges, was arrested for refusing to leave a hotel and resisted officers.

According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on May 20 at around 12:15 pm, officers responded to the Hastings Inn (217 S. Broadway) in reference to an individual who refused to leave the premises.

Officers made contact with Jason Meyer (52) of Salina. They attempted to get Meyers to leave the premises voluntarily, but he refused.

Then officers attempted to take Meyers into custody, but he resisted and attempted to flee. Meyers then fell to the ground taking an officer with him. The officer was not injured.

While on the ground Meyer, continued to resist and was taken into custody.

Meyer was booked into the Saline County Jail in reference to Trespassing and Interference with Law Enforcement.

Back on February 2025, Meyer was arrested for trespassing at the former Evergy location (1001 Edison Pl.) and breaking windows at a convenience store in Salina.
