Thunderstorm chances Saturday night; active weather pattern moving in

Thunderstorms are expected to develop over northwest Kansas later this afternoon and spread southeast tonight into mainly central and south-central Kansas. The main impacts will be pea to dime size hail and wind gusts of 40 to 60 mph.

An active weather pattern is expected for Sunday through Thursday night across the region. Afternoon and evening thunderstorms in western Kansas will trek east into the area during the late evening and overnight hours each night.

The main impacts will be gusty winds of 40 to 60 mph and locally heavy rainfall.
