Girls: Bennington 44, Ell-Saline 10

The Lady Bulldogs controlled this game from the jump, holding Ell-Saline to just two points in the first quarter and never looking back.

Ell-Saline battled admirably, even slowing the Bennington attack to keep things within ten at the half, but in the third quarter, the Lady Bulldogs turned up the heat and pulled away for a comfortable 44-10 victory.

Bennington forced a staggering 46 turnovers in this game, turning defense into offense in a balanced night for the Lady Bulldogs.

Brooklyn Clark led the Lady Bulldogs in scoring with nine points, aided by eight other teammates who all tacked on between two and eight points.

Paisley Jensen led the Lady Cards, scoring six points on a rough offensive night for Ell-Saline.

With this result, the Lady Bulldogs improve to 12-5 while Ell-Saline slides to 3-13.

Boys: Ell-Saline 65, Bennington 35

It’s hard to beat a team three times in a season, and through the first quarter it appeared that saying would ring true as 5th-ranked Ell-Saline led by just four points.

That didn’t hold for long however, as the Cardinals rattled off a 15-0 run to open the second quarter, stretching the lead to 19 at the half.

The third quarter saw more of the same, with Ell-Saline pushing the lead to 30, and securing a running clock for the whole fourth quarter.

Trey Williams was spectacular for the Cardinals scoring 20 in the win, flanked by Kas Kramer (16), and Colin Dent (10) in double figures.

Isaiah Garrett (10), led the charge in the loss for Bennington.

With this victory Ell-Saline improves to 15-1 while the Bulldogs drop to 7-9.
