Fifty years ago, in 1973, the Paris Peace Accords were signed, signaling the end of America’s combatant role in Vietnam. But, what was Vietnam?

To some, it’s just words on a page. To others, it’s grainy, eerie images. To others, Vietnam has become part of their life stories.

This First Thursday offers a safe place for three Vietnam veterans to bring history alive, share their stories, and answer questions. Veterans include Doug Randolph, 1st Marine Division; Jim Deister, Combat Engineer, 9th Infantry Division; and Mario G. Mata, 1st Cavalry Division.

This presentation is offered by the Smoky Hill Museum on Thursday from 5:30-6:45 p.m. Experience the panel in person or register to watch it via Zoom, at www.smokyhillmuseum.org. It will also be available on Facebook until noon on May 9.
