The 2022 budget, a property purchase, trails, and bonds are among the items on the Salina City Commission agenda for Monday.
About the meeting
Study sessions and city commission meetings will take place in–person in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street, and via Zoom until further notice. Meetings also can be viewed at the City of Salina YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/cityofSalinaKansas.

If citizens wish to speak, either during the public forum or when the mayor requests public comment on an item, citizens attending via Zoom must raise their hands so that the meeting host can allow them to speak. Those who attend the in-person meeting will have the opportunity to speak at the podium.

In order for the commissioners to have an opportunity to review comments in advance of the meeting, please email your comments or questions by 5 p.m. the Sunday prior to the Monday meetings.
Study session

Regular meeting
The regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. A time for public comment is scheduled near the beginning of the meeting.
Commissioners are scheduled to consider authorizing the city manager to execute a purchase agreement for the property at 125 W. North Street currently being leased for use by the city's Drive-Thru Recycling Center.
The city has leased the property for thr past three years. In March, city staff presented information to the commissioners concerning renewing the lease or purchasing the property from KMJJM, L.L.C., in the amount of $262,000. Commissioners directed staff to pursue the purchase option and notify KMJJM of the city's intent to exercise the purchase option in the current lease.
Other items on the city commission agenda for Monday include the following.
●Consider proclaiming July 2021 as Americans with Disabilities Act Month in the City of Salina.
●Consider accepting offered sidewalk easements for the Markley Road Trail Project.
●Consider awarding the bid for minor concrete repairs on Baker Street to Lancaster Construction, Inc., in the amount of $65,292.50 with a five percent construction contingency for total project authorization not to exceed $68,557.13. Additionally, the commissioners would consider authorizing the city manager to execute a contract with Lancaster Construction, Inc.
●Consider authorizing the city manager to execute the public/private partnership agreement for the Smoky Hill River Greenway Trail from Ohio Street to the YMCA.
●Consider authorizing the mayor to execute an agreement with the Kansas Department of Transportation for economic development program funds to be used for Centennial Road improvements from Water Well Road to Arnold Avenue in the amount of $2,500,000.
●Consider Superior Plumbing & Heating Company's industrial revenue bond financing request.
●Consider a proposed ordinance that would approve Feast on the Fe as a special event and authorize the consumption of liquor within the boundaries of the barricaded public areas at the event.
●Consider approving resolutions adopting the Live Salina Plan 2021 Supplement and the Salina Housing Policy.
