Hutton builds on Salina downtown commitment with new office

Signaling its commitment to the growth and economic development of Salina, Hutton is celebrating its expansion to 137 South Fifth Street in downtown Salina.

“We recognize the value of Salina’s geographic location and skilled workforce,” said Salina team leader Jason Gillig. “Clients and employees in North Central Kansas appreciate the proximity of the new office to some of our most exciting projects.”

The Wichita-based architecture, construction and facility services firm has four offices in Kansas. Hutton acquired Busboom & Rauh Construction in 2019, which bolstered Hutton’s commercial, industrial, healthcare and cold storage/food manufacturing roster. The new office is one of several Salina-area projects for Hutton, including Homewood Suites by Hilton, the KU School of Medicine Health Education Center, Salina Regional Health Center and renovations to the Stiefel Theater.

“We took the same approach in designing our Salina office as our other Hutton offices,” explained Hutton architect Emily Taylor. “The layout is collaborative – no hierarchy. There will be multiple meeting rooms, including large conference and training rooms we will make available to the Salina community when it’s safe to do so. Perhaps the best part is we’re reopening the former skylight at the center of the building to bring sunlight to every workstation.”

Hutton is hosting an event today at 2:30 p.m. in partnership with the Salina Chamber of Commerce to “break ground” on the remodel project.
