Salina City Commissioners on Monday voted to approve a roundabout that will be established on S. 9th St. and Water Well Rd.
According to the City commision packet for the Monday meeting on July 14th, 9th St. and Water Well Rd. is 'experiencing significant growth, with a substantial increase in truck traffic anticipated.' The packet stated that due to the increase of traffic, a roundabout is 'expected to be more effective than a traffic signal at this location, as it would help prevent westbound traffic from backing up onto the I-135 ramps.'
Salina Commissioners voted to approve the establishment of the roundabout in an amount not to exceed $420,425.00.
A date was not announced on either the construction of the roundabout or the completion of it.
