K-State Ends Homestand Wednesday Against Milwaukee

MANHATTAN, Kansas - (10/10) K-State (4-0) will complete its five-game homestand on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m., as the Wildcats host Milwaukee (2-3).

• With a win, K-State would secure its third straight season with a season-opening five-game winning streak. This would be the first time in program history the Wildcats have won five or more games to begin three consecutive seasons.

• Wednesday’s game can be seen live on ESPN+, as Jake Eisenberg (play-by-play), Missy Heidrick (analyst) and Sophie Smith (sideline) will have the call.

Five names, numbers or storylines about K-State women’s basketball

1. Bramlage Milestone

• With its win over Little Rock, K-State women’s basketball recorded the program’s 400th win in Bramlage Coliseum (400-156, .719).

2. Double-Double & Make it Quick

• Only three players in the nation this season have recorded a double-double in 16 minutes or less of playing time and two play for K-State - Ayoka Lee (vs. Little Rock) and Kennedy Taylor (vs. Green Bay).

3. Duo Takes Care

• The K-State duo of Jaelyn Glenn and Zyanna Walker have been deft passers and caretakers of the ball. Glenn leads the nation with a 14.0 assist/turnover ratio (14 assists/1 turnover), while Walker is 14th at 4.40 (22 assists/5 turnovers). The tandem are the only set of teammates in the nation this season with 14 or more assists and an assist/turnover ratio of 4.00 or better.

4. High Efficiency Maupin

• In her career, Eliza Maupin owns 10 career games with 10 or more points. In those 10 games, Maupin has shot 75.4 percent (49-of-65) from the field.

5. Lee on Cusp of Scoring Record

• Senior center and 2024-25 Preseason Big 12 Player of the Year Ayoka Lee needs 89 points to pass Kendra Wecker (2001-05; 2,333 points) for the K-State career scoring record.

• K-State registered a season-high 58 rebounds against Little Rock on Monday.

• The 58 rebounds were the result of a season-high 42 defensive rebounds and 16 offensive boards which turned into 21 second chance points.

• The 58 rebounds were the most for K-State since hauling in 61 against Oral Roberts on Dec. 18, 2023.

• Each Wildcat that saw the floor pulled in two or more rebounds and seven players pulled in five or more rebounds.

• K-State has held the advantage on the glass in all four games this season.

• The Wildcats have two games this season with with 20 or more second chance points, including a season-high 23 against Green Bay in the season-opener and 21 against Little Rock on Nov. 18.

• The 23 second-chance points were the most since scoring 23 against Kansas on Feb. 13, 2021.

• A season ago, K-State outscored its foes on second chance points, 336-258, and had three games with 20 or more points.

Bench Boost

• K-State has received an offensive boost from its second unit this season.

• The Wildcats are averaging 24.8 points per game (99) from the bench this season. K-State has had the upperhand in bench points in two games this season (2-0).

• K-State has scored 20 or more bench points in a game three times this season including a season-high of 36 against Green Bay on Nov. 4.

• Last season, the Wildcats tallied 672 points (19.8 ppg) from its bench last season and ranked fifth in the Big 12 and 108th in the nation in the category.

• K-State’s bench outscored the opposing team’s bench in 26 games last season (23-3).

Walker on Point

• Sophomore Zyanna Walker has been a reliable distributor in the early stages of the 2024-25 season.

• Walker, a product of Wichita, Kansas, has dished out 22 assists (5.5 apg) to pace the Wildcats. She ranks tied for seventh in the Big 12 for assists per game and fourth in the league for assist/turnover ratio (4.40).

• Against Green Bay on Nov. 4, Walker handed out seven assists with zero turnovers in her first career start. The seven assists tied her career-high. Against Little Rock on Nov. 18, she dished out six assists with zero turnovers.

No Side Eye for Sides

• Guard Taryn Sides has kept the offensive attack rolling in her time on the floor.

• This season, Sides is averaging 8.7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 21.4 minutes per game.

• Against Little Rock on Nov. 18, Sides notched 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.

• In her debut season in 2023-24, the native of Phillipsburg, Kansas, averaged 3.4 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists.

• She had three games with five or more assists and no turnovers including a career-high eight assists against McNeese State on Dec. 6. She has eight games with five or more assists.

• At Kansas on Feb. 25, Sides registered a career-high 11 points including a 3-of-5 effort from beyond the arc.

• In her first career game against a ranked opponent, at second-ranked Iowa on Nov. 16, Sides notched eight points, six rebounds and three assists. She made a pair of free throws with nine seconds left to ice the win at Iowa.

Hoppin’ Maupin

• Eliza Maupin has been a spark off the bench during her time with the Wildcats.

• Against Little Rock, Maupin registered 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting with eight rebounds.

• In her career, Maupin owns 10 career games with 10 or more points and 13 career games with five or more rebounds. In the 10 games in which she has scored in double figures, Maupin is shooting 75.4 percent from the field.

• Maupin registered a pair of perfect efforts from the field during the 2023-24 season.

• At Baylor on Jan. 22, 2024, Maupin recorded 16 points with a 6-of-6 effort from the field and hauled in nine rebounds.

• At Texas on Feb. 4, 2024, she carded a career-high 18 points on 7-of-7 shooting.

• In the 2023-24 season, Maupin averaged 4.0 points on a career-best .687 field goal percentage and 2.3 rebounds. She tallied three games with 10 or more points.

Lee Owns Double-Double Record

• Ayoka Lee continues to be a double-double machine in her K-State career.

• Lee’s 61 career double-doubles is tied for fourth in Big 12 history for career double-doubles. She ranked sixth in the nation among active NCAA Division I women’s basketball players.

• With five double-doubles in the 2024-25 season, Lee would move into second in Big 12 history for career double-doubles.

• Lee has averaged 0.52 double-doubles per game in her career, which is the highest rate in school history.

• Lee is the second player in program history with three or more seasons with 10 or more double-doubles (Kendra Wecker, 2001-05; 4) and is the only player in program history with two or more seasons with 15 or more double-doubles.

• The product of Byron, Minnesota, registered her 53rd career double-double to break the school record in grand fashion with 24 points and 21 rebounds against Oral Roberts on Dec. 18. This was her second career double-double with 20 or more points and 20 or more rebounds and she is the only player in program history with a double-double of 20 points and 20 rebounds.

• She was the fastest player in program history to 50 career double-doubles.

• Lee owns 11 career double-doubles with 30 or more points and 10 or more rebounds, which stands as the most such games in program history. Against West Virginia on Feb. 21, she notched  her latest 30-10 game with 34 points and 12 rebounds.

• In the 2023-24 season, Lee tallied 11 double-doubles to rank fourth in the Big 12 in the category.

• Early in the 2023-24 season, Lee registered a double-double of 32 points and 10 rebounds at Little Rock. Lee was the first player in NCAA Division I since at least the 1999-00 season to register a game with 32 or more points, 10 or more rebounds while shooting 81 percent or better in just 22 minutes.

• Lee completed the 2021-22 season with a school record 20 double-doubles. Earlier in the season, Lee tied her own school record for consecutive double-doubles with six straight. She was 11th in the nation and was second in the Big 12 during the 2021-22 season for double-doubles.

• Lee’s 20 double-doubles set a school record for double-doubles in a junior season, surpassing the previous record of 15 by Nicole Ohlde in the 2002-03 season. She was one of six players in Big 12 history with 20 or more double-doubles in a season.

• Of the 20 total double-doubles during the 2022-23 season, six efforts reached 30 or more points and 10 or more rebounds.

• At South Dakota State on Dec. 11, Lee tallied 38 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks. This was her 12th career game with a double-double and five or more blocks, improving on her own school record.

• According to HerHoopStats.com, Lee was the third player since 2009-10 to register a final stat line of at least 38 points, 14 rebounds and six blocks (Elena Delle Donne, 2012; Brittney Griner, 2013).
