Salina storage units burgled; nearly $5,000 worth of items stolen

Nearly $5,000 worth of items were stolen from two storage units in central Salina last week.

Salina Police Captain Gary Hanus said this morning that sometime between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 6:40 a.m. Friday, someone cut the padlocks off of two storage units in the 600 block of S. Second Street. The storage units are owned by Windsor Apartments and were being used by a 60-year-old Salina man. Damage to the storage units was estimated at $300.

According to Hanus, $4,850 in property was taken from the storage units, including the following.

●Fishing poles and tackle boxes

●Painting supplies

●A Wagner paint sprayer

●Craftsman stacking tool boxes

●Cordless drills

●Sawzalls

●Chop saws

●A ladder

●A grinder

●Three chain saws

●Miscellaneous tools
