As the country prepares to celebrate with fireworks this Fourth of July, Salina Fire wants to remind residents that safety comes first.

Salina residents are only allowed to discharge fireworks within the City limits of Salina on July 3-4 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

SFD said in a social media post that all firework complaints should be directed to the Salina Police Department via their administrative number 785-826-7210.

"Please keep our 911 lines open for Emergency Calls Only, not complaints on fireworks," the statement reads.

A reminder-fireworks can not be discharged on public property. You may only discharge them on personal property. Always follow the instructions, keep a safe distance, and never relight a dud firework.
