Thomas Harold "Tom" Walker, 80, of Peabody and formerly of McPherson, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020, at Ascension Via Christi-St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Wichita.
He was born September 7, 1940 in Coatesville, PA, the son of Herbert L. and Mabel (Green) Walker. After graduating high school, Tom attended the University of Colorado on the Boulder and the Denver campuses.
In 1961, he married Virginia Mattson.
Tom was a quality control engineer and civil service worker and has lived in many places including Peabody, KS, McPherson, KS, Moundridge, KS, Denver, CO, New York, NY, Detroit, MI, and Albuquerque, NM. While a resident of McPherson, he attended Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: his former wife, Virginia of El Paso, TX; three daughters, Jill Walker of River Oaks, TX, Beth Jones of El Paso, TX, and Kathy Anando of Pleasanton, CA, a brother, Herbert L. Walker, II of University Park, FL; and five granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by a half-brother, Alfred Beyer.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, October 12, 2020, at Stockham Family Funeral Home with Robert E. Friesen officiating. Burial will be in the McPherson Cemetery.
