About the Salina Military Emergency Relief Fund

The Salina Military Emergency Relief Fund initiated in 2012 by the esteemed late Salina business leader, philanthropist, and Veteran, Charlie Walker. The Salina Military Emergency Relief Fund serves as a beacon of assistance for local service members facing hardship. This vital fund is sustained through generous donations and the proceeds from various SMAC events.

Here are a few of the ways the fund has assisted our heroes in need:

- Contributed money to a family with a child who is on the waiting list for a kidney transplant.

- Purchased a plane ticket for a service member so that he could visit his son in the intensive care unit.

- Donated funds to a military family who lost everything in a house fire.
