A Salina man was cited and another driver transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.

Ethan Schlachter, 21, of Salina, was northbound on S. Ohio Street in a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am when he failed to stop at the light at the E. Republic Avenue intersection and collided with a westbound 2018 Ford transit van driven by Brianna Kaumans, 48, of Salina, Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said this morning. The collision occurred at approximately 9:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Kaumans suffered minor injuries and was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center, Forrester said.

The Grand Am sustained front and passenger-side damage and the van sustained front and driver-side damage, Forrester said. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Forrester said several witnesses confirmed that Schlachter failed to stop at the red light. Schlachter was cited for failure to stop at a stoplight, Forrester said.
