Wanda Neyhart Fox died on September 18, 2021 at Salem Home in Hillsboro, Kansas at the age of 87.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Fox and a brother, Charles Neyhart.
She is survived by her brothers Paul Neyhart of Filer, Idaho, E.J. Burke of Crofton, Nebraska, Alvin Burke of Dannebrog, Nebraska, daughter Malinda Stuchlik (Ken) of Marion, Kansas, son Dale Fox (Becky) of Westmoreland, Kansas, seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was born on December 10, 1933 in Nelson, Nebraska. She graduated from Nelson High School in 1952 and afterward attended Stormont-Vail Nursing School in Topeka, Kansas.
She was united in marriage to John Fox on June 29, 1957 in Beloit, Kansas after meeting him when her car broke down due to engine problems.
Two years after they were married they moved to Norton, Kansas where she was registered nurse at Norton County Hospital for 35 years, a job she loved especially when she became a labor and delivery nurse. Upon retirement she moved to Lehigh, Kansas to be closer to family and the milder winters.
Wanda especially enjoyed traveling to visit family and while belonging to the Kansas Campers and Hikers Association traveled extensively across the country and was involved in many of their activities. She was an avid bowler, gardener and spent many years as a Girl Scout leader. Later in life she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 at the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro, Kansas at 10:00. Interment will be immediately following the service at the Glen Elder Cemetery in Glen Elder, Kansas.
