A Salina man was arrested for the requested charge of 1st Degree Attempted Murder, after a victim suffered a gunshot wound in Concordia.
According to the Salina Police Department (SPD) on Tuesday, August 26 a state parole officer contacted SPD for the search of a male suspect who had a warrant for his arrest.
Reportedly, the Concordia Police Department (CPD) placed a requested charge of 1st Degree Attempted Murder on the suspect identified as 45-year old, Miralis Cozart.
CPD stated that on Sunday, August 17, a report was made that a male victim suffered a gunshot wound at a home in Concordia. Witnesses identified the shooter as Cozart, and that was when the warrant was put out for his arrest.
Cozart fled the scene before CPD arrived.
The victim was transported to the Concordia hospital and was later transferred to another medical facility, to receive extensive medical treatment for his injuries.
Then on Tuesday, SPD located Cozart in the 200 block of S. Broadway with the assistance of state parole. Officers arrested Cozart without incident and booked him into the Saline County Jail for his warrant out of Concordia.
He is facing the following requested charges of:
1st Degree Attempted Murder, Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, Attempted Robbery with a Deadly Weapon.
Cozart is a resident of Salina.
