
Shirley Ann (Sealock) Farber passed away February 28, 2023, in Hoxie, Kansas. She was born November 8, 1935, in Hoxie, the daughter of Vern and Florence Sealock. Shirley married Ford Farber of Hoxie August 21, 1955 and began her lifelong , labour of love as a devoted mother and wife. She was often heard to say “I have 5 sons”, smiling the whole time. And so the endless meals, the endless ball games and sporting events, and sleepless nights began. Shirley and Ford lived in Jamestown, Lenora, Concordia, Colby, and eventually settled in Norton, Kansas for over 45 years. As a hobby, Shirley enjoyed sewing. Shirley worked for Valley Hope, Norton, Kansas before she retired. Later in life, she loved to travel with Ford and watch him create treasured projects in the shop.
This is the last door Shirley will stand in front of, waiting for a son to open for her.
Shirley is survived four sons Alan (Kim) of Denver, Colorado, Curt (Mona) of Ellinwood, Kansas, Scott of Norton, Kansas and Eric (Renee) of Minburn, Iowa.; sisters Donna Mowry and husband Richard of Morland, Kansas and Jan Pyle And husband John of Lawrence, Kansas; sister-in-law, Wanda Sealock; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Ford; son, Bruce Farber; parents, Vern and Florence Sealock; brother, Phillip Sealock; and step-brother, Wayne Shepard.
Visitation will be Saturday March 11, 2023 at 9 AM at the Hoxie United Methodist Church followed by the Celebration Of Life Services at 10:30 AM. Following the service inurnment will take place in the Hoxie City Cemetery.
