Kansas Wesleyan Women's Soccer withstood a late charge from the Ottawa Braves to come away with a 3-2 win on Saturday afternoon at JRI Hospitality Stadium at Graves Family Sports Complex on the campus of Kansas Wesleyan University.

The win kept the Coyotes unbeaten in the KCAC at 4-0 and was the fourth straight win for Wesleyan, as KWU improved to .500 on the season at 4-4-1 overall.

The Coyotes were on the board first in the 14th minute, as Grace Conner scored from about 10 yards out gaining possession after the ball bounced around among several Ottawa defenders and her shot went just inside the near post.

Almost a minute later, Conner nearly had another goal as her shot to the far post hit the post and bounced away.

The Coyotes carried the 1-0 lead into the half.

Ottawa got an equalizing goal in the 57th minute, as goalkeeper turned forward Alondra Carbajal-Pettry scored on a loose ball in the Coyote box in the 57th minute.

The match would end with a flurry of goals in the final three minutes. Conner netted her second goal of the match thanks to a pass from Emma Gervy in the 88th minute to give the Coyotes the lead back at 2-1.

Gervy sent a pass down the seam to Conner in the box, who eluded a defender and sent a shot in from 14 yards out inside the near post for the go-ahead goal.

Gervy then netted the eventual game-winner just over a minute later. Off a throw-in by Isabella Anderson, Gervy got the ball down the right sideline and shot from about 40 yards out a high-arcing shot that found the far side netting for the goal putting the Coyotes up 3-1.

Carbajal-Pettry scored a second goal for Ottawa in the final minute. After a foul by KWU, she sent in a shot from 45 yards out, left hash, that initially hit the crossbar but had enough lucky spin on it that when it hit the ground it spun into the goal to make it 3-2.

KWU dominated the match offensively outshooting the Braves 24-5. Conner had six shots, and Gervy added four.
