A 63-year old man was transported to the hospital after crashing into a turkey vulture on a rural Saline County road.

According to Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan, on Thursday, May 15th Anthony Shafer was riding his green 2003 Kawasaki dirtbike on 5000 S. Burma Rd., near Lindsborg.

As Shafer was going southbound on Burma, a turkey vulture got in front of him on the road. Shafer could not avoid and hit the vulture, which caused him to lose control and fall off the bike.&nbsp;

Shafer suffered injuries to his wrist and ankle. He reported to deputies about the accident and upon arrival, Shafer was transported by EMS to Salina Regional Health Center for his injuries.
