
MANKATO -- A Nebraska man on Friday pleaded guilty to multiple counts in a case involving an elderly man in Randall.
On May 15, 2020, the Jewell County Sheriff's Office began investigating a reported scam in which three Nebraska men went to the elderly man's home in Randall and convinced him to pay more than $18,000 for lightning protection services, according to a post this evening on the Jewell County Sheriff's Office Facebook page.
According to information from the sheriff's office, investigators determined that Arthur Snook of Grand Island, Neb., was one of the men involved in the incident and he was taken into custody without incident.
On Friday, Snook pleaded no contest to two counts of felony conspiracy to commit mistreatment of a dependent adult and two counts of felony conspiracy to commit theft by deception, the sheriff's office reported.
The investigation in the case is ongoing, the sheriff's office noted.
