Dwaine L. Pruitt, 84, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2020 in Ellsworth, KS. He was born March 23, 1936 in Lyons, KS to Alfred and Dorothy (Johnson) Pruitt.
Dwaine married Betty Schneider in Lyons, KS on May 15, 1955. He later married Lois Trapp in Ellsworth, KS on April 14, 2007.
Dwaine worked as a supervisor for the Kansas Department of Transportation, he also served as an Ellsworth County EMT and Ellsworth County Deputy Sheriff Reserve.
Dwaine is survived by his wife, Lois Pruitt of Ellsworth, KS; son, Wayne Scott Pruitt (Kim) of Salina, KS; Barbara Clark (Darren) of Ellsworth, KS; son-in-law, Fred Butler of Ellsworth, KS; step-children, Wayne Trapp, Warren Trapp, Wendy Miller; grandchildren, Katie, Kelly, Jarrod, Joshua, Misty, Lacy, Amanda, and Brittany; 14 great grandchildren; brother, James E. Pruitt; sisters, Dorothy Lee Williams, Lois Elaine Williams, Maudie Nell Novotny
He was preceded in death by his first wife Betty Pruitt (September 3, 2005); daughter, Deborah Butler; brothers, A.R. Pruitt, Frank J. Pruitt, Tommy Clark Pruitt, Ray Pruitt, Raymond
Pruitt, George Pruitt, and Willis Pruitt; sisters, Zona Gail Stoops, Clara Jean Carr, and Gleasnor Arnold
Visitation: 1:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth, with family present 6-8 p.m.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, with burial following in the church cemetery.
