On Tuesday the Champions Indoor Football League announced a change to its official rulebook for the 2023 season, that would increase the number of PAT attempts from two to four, each with corresponding point values.
The traditional extra-point kick and two-point conversion (from the 2-yard line) will remain in the game, but teams will now have two additional options to gamble and gain even more points.
An offensive attempt from the five-yard line will now be worth three points, while an attempt from the ten will be worth four points. According to the release issued by the league "teams must declare their intentions to the official for a three or four-point attempt, and once declared it cannot be changed."
According to the release issued by the league, "The directors believe this will add an extra level of excitement to the game for the fans."
