The Salina South Cougars (0-8), will open postseason play on the road this Friday when they travel to take on Kapaun Mt. Carmel (7-1).
This will be the first meeting between the two since a week nine playoff matchup back in 2020 that went the way of the Crusaders 74-0.
“Obviously this season hasn't gone the way we wanted from a win-loss standpoint, but our guys are looking forward to an opportunity to spoil the party," South head coach Sam Sellers said. "Kapaun is an old-school, physical offense with an aggressive defense, we'll have to match their physicality to have a shot to pull off the upset.”
The winner of this matchup will advance to the round of 16 in this year's 5A playoff to take on either Salina Central (6-2), or Great Bend (5-3).
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 at Kapaun High School.
