NWS issues wind advisories for some counties in the area

Wind advisories have been issued Wednesday for some counties in our area.

The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a wind advisory in effect from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday for the following counties in our area.

Ellsworth County

Lincoln County

Marion County

McPherson County

Saline County

South winds at 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are expected.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle.

The National Weather Service in Topeka has issued a wind advisory in effect from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday for the following counties in our area.

Clay County

Cloud County

Dickinson County

Ottawa County

South winds at 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph are expected.

Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Small tree limbs could be blown down. Driving high profile vehicles will be difficult. Use extra caution when driving on east to west oriented roads like Interstate 70, especially if operating a high profile vehicle.
