The Southeast of Saline Cross Country teams continued to dominate this week with a first and second-place finish at Buhler.
The boy’s team took home the top spot, edging out the hosts by six points, led by a strong race win from Dylan Sprecker.
Sprecker was joined by two other Trojans in the top five as Damion Jackson crossed the line fourth followed by Levi Allen in fifth.
Joel Kejr rounded out the top ten with Cayden Walker and Nakari Morrical-Palmer each finishing in the top 20.
The girl’s team finished the meet in second, just ten points behind Great Bend, led by a first-place finish from Jentrie Alderson.
Trojans filled up the top ten as Abby Commerford finished fifth, Joni Schroeder finished ninth and Cali Augustine finished tenth, with two more runners inside the top 20.
It was a strong showing on the JV side as well, as Ashley Prochazka won that race ahead of Brenna Felzien in second and Morgan Trocheck in sixth.
In addition to strong JV runs by both the boys and girls, the future of the Southeast cross country team was on full display as Jacob Bircher and Brecken Alderson won the eighth-grade boys and girls races respectively, while Regan Duran won the seventh-grade girls race.
SES returns to Gypsum for their home meet next Tuesday, looking for a strong performance in front of the Trojan faithful.
