On this day back in 2021 a supercell thunderstorm produced extensive straight-line wind damage as it tracked across northern Rice County.
The intense storm caused 110 mph winds that knocked over a half mile of rail cars just west of Geneseo and also snapped power poles. Hail to the size of baseballs was also reported with the storm.
