Patricia “Kay” Smith, 74, of McPherson passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 18, 2021, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Mineola, Texas on January 6, 1947, to Robert and Lois (Galliton) Cannon. She was the spunkiest of four.
She was a “tell it like it is” person with no filter and many people loved her for that. She loved spending her days doing crossword puzzles, playing computer games, and going to the casino, every chance she got, with her best friend, Vanessa Vallee.
Survivors include: two daughters Terri (Danny) Newhouse of McPherson and Tawana (Emilio, Jr.) Garcia of Georgetown, Texas; five wonderful grandsons (whom she referred to as her little chickens 1-5) (#I) Jerrod (Sarah) Newhouse of Galva, (#II) Jeremy (Emily) Newhouse of Walton, (#IV) Justin Newhouse of Wichita, (#III) Simon (Glenys) Garcia of Terrell, TX and (#V) Nick Garcia of Orlando, Florida. She was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren, Keelyn, Rilynn, Kinsley, Keigan, Kaiser, Kynlee, Koty, Gracie, Lillian, Elliana, and Tatum; sisters Debbie (Bill) Turner of Texas and Gail (Bill)Adams of Arkansas; and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
Kay is reunited by death with her parents, brother, three nieces, and one nephew.
