Joseph “Joey” Anthony Frybarger was born on May 13, 1992, at the Portsmouth Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, Virginia, and he passed away in September at the age of 30 years.
Joey graduated from Granby (Virginia) High School in 2010, and then went on to receive his social sciences degree at Tidewater Community College, graduating with honors earning his AS degree.
Joey was an avid musician who could play almost any musical instrument; he especially liked to play the acoustic guitar. Besides music, he enjoyed piecing together PCs. He also loved theosophical writing, being surrounded by nature, reading passages in his favorite book titled "The Book of the Way" by Lao Tzu and mentoring others in healing and humanity. His other passions included various gaming with many friends and family.
Joey was a kind and loving man, was gentle and very spiritual, meditating often in natural surroundings.
Joey is survived by his mother Leann Parker and her fiancé Nathan Looney of Norfolk, Virginia, his grandparents Robert and Juanita Frybarger of Belleville, aunt and uncle Glen and Julie Frybarger of Durham, N.C., cousins Anna Edmondson, Jake and Glen Jr. Frybarger, Shaina Mitchell, his father Joseph Ocasio, two half-brothers Matthew, Vincent, stepsister Summer Taylor along with numerous other cousins, family and many friends including his significant other Alyssa O’Neil.
Memorial Services will be Saturday, October 1st, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at Tibbetts-Fischer Funeral Home in Belleville, KS with Pastor Craig Roberts officiating. Following the Memorial Services, the family will be greeting friends at a luncheon at the First Baptist Church in Belleville.
Friends may sign Joey’s book on Friday, September 30th, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., at the funeral home.
The services will be recorded and made available on the funeral home website following the services, for family and friends unable to attend.
