Betty Jo Theus, 75, passed away on September 21, 2024 at 3:10 pm at Legacy at Salina in Salina, KS.
Betty was born on October 17, 1948 in Weldon, LA to parents Fred and Lillian Beaver Briggs.
She worked in medical field for 20+ years.
She was a member of St Johns Missionary Baptist Church 25+ years……and ABSOLUTELY LOVED her pastor. She served as Deaconess and as a Mission Board Member. She was strong member of the community, serving in the jail ministry to men and women for many years. She was a very VERY determined woman, excellent cook and singer, she loved her church, spending time with family, and talking on the phone, the Kansas City Chiefs and Wichita Shockers fan.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents.
Betty is survived by her son Carl Rex Gray, Jr. of Salina, KS; and 7 Grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 5 - 7 PM at Roselawn Memorial Heights Chapel, 1920 E. Crawford Salina, KS 67401. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, 10:30 AM at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church in Salina, KS, with Rev. Dr. Allen D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Golden Belt Cemetery, Great Bend, KS.
