Cool! NWS says below normal temperatures expected through next week

Cooler than normal temperatures appear likely through next week. That's the word from the National Weather Service (NWS) in Wichita.

Normal daytime readings for this time of year are in the low 90s, NWS noted.

A 50-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming southeast around 5 mph.

Tonight
A 50-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. East southeast wind 5 to 7 mph becoming west northwest after midnight.

Thursday
Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Northwest wind 6 to 15 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
