Nyla Mae Stucky, 83, of Moundridge, Kansas, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at Mercy Hospital. She was born on February 3, 1939 in Moundridge, the daughter of Lester and Nelda (Fowler) Westerman.

She graduated from Moundridge High School with the class of 1957. She later graduated from Venus Beauty College in Wichita.

Nyla worked as a beautician for a shop in McPherson before opening her own shop in Moundridge. After her marriage, she opened Nyla’s Beauty Shop out of her own home until 1980. Nyla later worked in the beauty shop at Pine Village for 13 years.

She was a member of the Moundridge United Methodist Church. Nyla was also involved in the UMW, FCE and Red Hats.

She loved to garden, bake, paint, play cards, sew, knit and crochet. Nyla enjoyed winter and the snow, especially when she could snowmobile. She also enjoyed going to garage sales, antique shops and camping.

She was united in marriage to Raymond “Ray” Stucky on October 24, 1959 in Moundridge. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2012.

Nyla is survived by her two sons Ty (Vicky) Stucky of Newton, and Kyle Stucky of Moundridge; four grandchildren, Matthew Stucky, Megan (Anh) Stucky-Phan, Cole (Marissa) Stucky, and their two children, Emmett and Evelyn; and Connor Stucky.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and four siblings, Max Westerman, Betty Krehbiel, Norma Huffman, and Jerry Westerman.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2022 at Mound Township Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m., Monday, December 19, at West Zion Mennonite Church. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, December 18, at Moundridge Funeral Home, with family greeting friends from 4 to 6 p.m.
