The Kansas Wesleyan Men's Soccer team battled with the fifth-ranked Oklahoma Wesleyan Eagles on Saturday at the Graves Family Sports Complex, and it was the Eagles coming out on top 3-1.

Both teams possessed the ball a great deal in the match, not taking a lot of chances at scoring goals.

OKWU broke through in the 19th minute on a goal by Victor Crispim, assisted by Ognjen Stevic on a play that a lot resembled a corner kick. Stevic had possession deep on the left side and sent it into the box, finding Crispim right in front of the goal for the header in.

The Eagles doubled their lead in the 30th minute. Filip Cavic flicked a ball over the KWU defense finding Amadou Gadio open over the middle, who headed in the shot from right in front of the goal.

The 2-0 lead would hold to half time.

OKWU got its third goal in the 47th minute from Stefan Cvetanovic. Cvetanovic and Matheus Ferreira did a little give and go over the middle of the field and Cventanovic's shot from just inside the box would find its way over the line.

The Coyotes got on the board in the 54th minute on a goal by Artin Almary (SR/Glendale, Calif.). Almary took a pass from David Palacios (SR/Salina, Kan.) and was unmarked before taking the shot and scoring it for the Coyotes.

The Coyotes had a couple more chances in the match but could not capitalize.

OKWU outshot the Coyotes 16-5 in the match. Five different KWU players had one shot each.

KWU will wrap up the fall portion of this 2020 season next Friday at Ottawa. The Coyotes also have four other matches that will be contested in the spring, against Avila, Saint Mary, Southwestern and Sterling.
