Proclamations, appointments, and the Salina Heritage Commission are among the topics on the Salina City Commission agenda for Monday.
About the meeting
Study sessions and city commission meetings will take place in–person in room 107 of the City-County Building, 300 West Ash Street, and via Zoom until further notice. Meetings also can be viewed at the City of Salina YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/cityofSalinaKansas.

The meeting also can be accessed by phone at 1-346-248-7799. Enter Meeting ID:892 7598 4587 when prompted.
If citizens wish to speak, either during the public forum or when the mayor requests public comment on an item, citizens attending via Zoom must raise their hands so that the meeting host can allow them to speak. Those who attend the in-person meeting will have the opportunity to speak at the podium.

In order for the commissioners to have an opportunity to review comments in advance of the meeting, please email your comments or questions by 5 p.m. the Sunday prior to the Monday meetings.
Study session
Commissioners are scheduled to meet in a study session at 3 p.m. Monday. The topic of the study session is Dangerous Structures and Property Maintenance.
Regular meeting
The regular meeting is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
Commissioners are scheduled to consider approving the following two proclamation requests.
●Recognize the month of September 2022 as National Recovery Month in the City of Salina. Valarie Hicks, senior recovery coach at CKF Addiction Treatment, is scheduled to read the proclamation.
●Recognize Sept. 11, 2022, as National Day of Service and Remembrance Day in the City of Salina. Fire Chief Tony Sneidar is scheduled to read the proclamation.
Commissioners also are scheduled to consider appointing Salinans to a number of boards and commissions.

Other items on the Salina City Commission agenda for Monday include the following.
●Discussion of city commission agenda order
●Consider acceptance of the offered right-of-way, easements, and restricted access dedications from Storage Mart, LLC, to serve the proposed Aero Plains Addition, a 170-lot subdivision of a 53.26-acre tract of land located on the east side of Centennial Road between W. Schilling Road and W. Magnolia Road.
●Consider approving a proposed ordinance on second reading to change the zoning classification of the land for the proposed Aero Plains Addition from A-1 (agriculture) to R-2 (multi-family residential).
●Consider renewal of the Certified Local Government agreement between the City of Salina and the State Historic Preservation Officer, allowing the Salina Heritage Commission to retain its current responsibility for performing National/State Register project review under the State Historic Preservation Act.
