
Ottawa scored the lone goal of Tuesday's match with the Kansas Wesleyan Coyotes in the regular season finale for both teams at the Graves Family Sports Complex.
The match was a make-up from Sept. 22 when the match was postponed.
Ottawa's goal came in the 76th minute by Denaya Evans when the Braves gained possession of the ball at the top of the box.
The Coyotes maintained possession and pressure for much of the first half, but could not find a goal.
The second half saw a more balanced match between the teams, but the Coyotes again could not find a goal. Lissette Garcia (SR/Bakersfield, Calif.) had a good look at a score but the shot was saved in the 62nd minute.
KWU outshot Ottawa 17-3 in the match. Kayla Deaver (SR/Lee's Summit, Mo.) led the Coyotes with four shots.
KWU is the No. 4 seed in the KCAC tournament which starts Saturday. KWU will host No. 5 seed Tabor at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Graves Family Sports Complex. The conference semifinals and finals are next week at Stryker Sports Complex in Wichita.
