The Pawnee Nation has a long and significant history in Kansas. Their presence in the north and central regions dates back centuries.

Join Dr. Carlton Shield Chief Gover, (Ckîri, Parî/Pawnee) as he offers an overview of what we know about the Kitkehahki in Kansas and how we know it. Dr. Shield Chief Gover is an assistant professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Kansas, and the assistant curator of archaeology for the KU Biodiversity Institute and Natural History Museum.
