The City of Salina is cracking down closer on hiring a new city manager.

On Wednesday, July 30th, Salina Commissioners and staff met to discuss the final hiring process for a new city manager. During that meeting, Human Resources Director Natalie Fischer, Commissioners and a hiring consultant each discussed how the process will play in full from Monday, August 11 - Tuesday, August 12.

According to Fischer, on Monday the city manager finalists will go on community and city focused tours throughout the day. Then from 5:30 - 7:30 pm that same day, there will be a public meet & greet, which is a great opportunity for the public to interact and spark conversations with each of the finalists.

*The location of the meet & greet is to be determined and will be announced soon.*

The next day on Tuesday will be a closed, final interview conducted by the Commissioners with each of the finalists.

Jacob Wood is the current interim city manager who took over for Mike Schrage on February 7, 2025. Schrage resigned during the December 23, 2024 meeting to accept a similar position in Warrensburg, Missouri.

Salina Post will provide updates once received.
