Oliver W. Simmons, son of Alva Simmons and Ethel (Lauritzen) Simmons was born November 11, 1931 at Courtland, Kansas and passed away on March 27, 2022 at his home in Scandia, Kansas at the age of 90.
He graduated from Republic High School, Republic, KS. He was united in marriage to Carolyn N. Loring and to this union four children were born, Teresa , Kevin , Lori , Lisa. He served with the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked as a security officer for the federal government for many years until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents Alva and Ethel Simmons, wife Carolyn, son-in-law Russell Hall, grandson Christopher G. Simmons, one sister, Maxine Simms, and two brothers, Donald Simmons, Robert Simmons.
He is survived by one son, Kevin (Debra) Simmons of Scandia, KS, three daughters, Teresa (John) Dillman of Liberty, MO, Lori (Larry) Jones of Independence, MO, Lisa Hall of Scandia, KS, five grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Darlene Simmons of Belleville, KS, other relatives and many friends.
Cremation was selected.
There will be no service or visitation.
Private family Inurnment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Scandia, KS.
Memorials may be given to Oliver W. Simmons Memorial Fund.
