Ronald E. “Ron” Schepmann, 69, passed away Saturday, February 26, 2022, in Hoisington, KS. He was born May 5, 1952, in Hoisington to Elroy and Rose Anna (Hagge) Schepmann.

Ron married Damaris Smith on August 2, 1997, in Holyrood, KS.

Ron was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a beloved brother and uncle. He was a fine man, a knowledgeable stockman and farmer, a lifetime member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Holyrood, and member of Holyrood American Legion Post 200. He will be remembered for his love of family, especially his wife Damaris. He had a quirky sense of humor that he practiced on his many family members, especially his nephews and nieces. He very much loved being a grandpa. He was brave in the face of overwhelming medical issues and never wavered in his faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. The lives of those who knew him were enriched by knowing him.

Ron is survived by his wife Damaris of Bushton; stepsons Phil Mareu (Bailey) of Lawrence, KS, Matthew Martinez of Lenexa, KS, and Gabriel Martinez of Wichita, KS; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers Vern Schepmann (Karen) of Holyrood and Paul Schepmann (Karin) of Holyrood; nephews Matthew, Jeremy, and Christopher; and nieces Elizabeth and Jill.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elroy and Rose Anna Schepmann.

Memorial service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3, 2022, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Holyrood. Inurnment will follow at the church cemetery.
