(BRACKET | WATCH | STATS) Kansas Wesleyan Women's Volleyball is the No. 5 seed in the KCAC Tournament and will head to No. 4 seed Oklahoma Wesleyan on Tuesday in the KCAC Quarterfinals.
First serve at the Mueller Sports Complex is scheduled for 6 p.m.
KWU finished the conference season with an 8-5 record to earn the fifth seed. Oklahoma Wesleyan finished in a three-way tie for second with Bethel and Evangel at 11-2, but was awarded the fourth seed after application of the conference tiebreaker rules.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time online at https://kcacsports.com/sports/2023/1/6/tickets.aspx. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors (55+), $6 for faculty and staff with ID, $6 for children 6-17 (college students must show ID), and children 5 and under are free.
KWU is 14-13 overall. Statistically KWU and its opponents are nearly identical. Both have recorded 1212 kills on the season. KWU is hitting slightly better at a .179 hitting percentage vs a .171 hitting percentage for opponents. Both are nearly identical in total attempts as well. Assists and digs are nearly identical as well. Opponents do block slightly higher than the Coyotes at 1.9 per set vs 1.7 for the Coyotes.
Senior Rylee Serpan leads the Coyotes in kills with 341 and per set at 3.59. KWU's 6-2 offense is very balanced with three setters leading the way. Sara Bebout and Ryleigh Stuhlsatz average 4.94 assists per set each and Blair Pennington averages 4.12. Tristyn Hedman leads the Coyotes with 3.8 digs per set. Kate Bebout leads the Coyotes in blocks at 0.72 per set.
Oklahoma Wesleyan is 22-3 overall heading into the tournament. The Eagles lead the NAIA in kills per set at 14.59 and assists per set at 13.56. The Eagles rank fifth in hitting percentage at .265.
Evelyn Rohrberg leads the Eagles in kills with 481 and averages 5.53 per set which leads the NAIA. Sydney Collins anchors OKWU's 5-1 offense averaging 11.99 assists per set which leads the NAIA. Maria Luisa Caycedo leads the Eagles in digs at 5.46 per set.
